"Antiques Roadshow doesn't make house calls. WE DO!

Here at Bionicgeek Collectibles, we help you through the process of maximizing the value of your collectibles. With our service, we walk you through what your collectibles are potentially worth, and how to increase that valuation.  Our primary area of specialty is currently vintage comics, but we are happy to do the legwork for trading cards, albums, figures, books, films, jewelry, and art. We work with trusted and long established cleaners and consignors to maximize your discounts and minimize the work you have to do to turn your merch into money.


We do not currently buy bulk collections: our goal is for you, the owner or inheritor, to keep a minimum of 70% of the value of every item you entrust to us. This may be something we will reconsider as the business grows.

About

We are Sigrid & Roy (no cats with mouths larger than the smaller of our two necks) of Charlottesville, VA. We started our journey into vintage collectibles with a large collection of Silver Age comic books we found in Sigrid’s father’s basement. We had high hopes for turning the comics into profit, but immediately ran into trouble. What was worth a lot? What was worthless? Could we make things worth more? Could we preserve them better? Was there a guide?

There was not a guide!

However, we learned a lot through trial and error. Luckily for us, we both love comic books, as both story and artform, and found working with the collection and with comics professionals to be extremely rewarding!

During the process, we realized that there are a lot of people who are as confused as we were who are starting a similar journey, who do not find this process fun at all. They want to maximize the value of their collectibles, which may be inherited, found, or from a long-dormant hobby.

But how to do that?

Our Process

So, you found yourself in possession of some vintage collectibles! You may have heard that collectibles can bring in good money, but have no idea whether you have anything that anyone would want. You don’t know whether your local comic shop or pawn shop would offer you a fair price.

You don’t know what to sell, how to sell it, or who to sell it to, and Antiques Roadshow doesn’t make house calls.

Lucky for you, we do!

Our initial consultation can be done in person or over a video chat.

We charge a flat $50 fee for this consultation. If you choose to entrust us with your collection dispersal, that $50 is subtracted from our total fee – you win either way!

Jarvis Tier
3% of Net

  • Analysis of your collection with a ballpark value

  • Separation of any “blue chip” items for special valuation

  • Cleaning and pressing if desired, at our discount rates (We currently contract with a trusted comic cleaner [insert DeAngelo’s website] and will find other specialists in restoration, repair, or cleaning as requested)
  • Grading
  • Consignment through our trusted contact at Heritage Auctions or through our own eBay account

Alfred Tier
5% of Net

  • Everything Included in Jarvis Tier
  • White glove bagging, boarding, and sorting service
  • If requested, storage of collectibles to give you room back

Add-Ons

  • Taneleer the Collector Service: We take your picture holding the rare comic or collectible of your dreams. Maybe you can’t afford Amazing Fantasy 15, but why shouldn’t you have documentation that you held it?

  • Silver Herald Service: Transport of your item for an authenticated autograph

  • Lobo Service: Obtaining a collectible at your request
